Account
Do I need an account to browse BarkParks?
No. Most public pages, maps, and guides can be used without signing in. An account is only needed for member-only or saved-planning features if those are enabled for you.
How do I change my email or profile details?
If your account dashboard offers profile editing, update your details there. If you need manual help, email us from the address on your account.
How do I delete my BarkParks account?
Email hello@joytheeandme.com and ask for account deletion. We may verify ownership before deleting or de-identifying eligible records.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Use the password reset option on the sign-in experience if available. If you still cannot access your account, contact support and include the email tied to your membership.
Map
Why is the map loading slowly?
Large park datasets and your connection speed both matter. Try refreshing, clearing old browser cache, or using a different network if performance feels stuck.
What do the map filters mean?
Filters help you narrow the map by park type, access level, and useful trip traits like fenced areas, trails, or accessible options. Tap or click a filter again to remove it.
Can I search by address or city?
Yes. Use the search box on map-enabled pages to look up a park, city, or address. Results depend on mapping providers and may vary slightly by region.
How do I report a wrong park listing?
Please send the park name, link, and correction to support. We appreciate updates on closures, leash rules, access changes, and park amenities.
Membership
What does BarkParks membership include?
Membership benefits may include premium planning tools, saved favorites, special park picks, member resources, or other perks listed on the membership page at the time you join.
When does my membership start?
Your access begins when checkout or activation is completed, unless a specific feature is listed as waitlist, preorder, or beta access.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. You can request cancellation before the next billing cycle. Cancellation ends future billing, while already paid periods remain available unless stated otherwise.
Do you offer refunds?
If a purchase was made in error or you ran into an activation problem, contact us promptly. We review refund requests case by case and follow any posted checkout terms.
Trip Planning
How accurate are park rules and dog policies?
We work hard to keep content useful, but park rules can change fast. Always confirm dog access, hours, closures, and permit requirements with the official park source.
Can I save trip ideas for later?
If saved-planning tools are enabled on your account, yes. Otherwise, bookmark the page or keep your own planning notes until that feature is available.
Do your guides include camping and lodging ideas?
Some destination pages do. We focus on dog-friendly planning cues, but you should still verify pet fees, breed restrictions, quiet hours, and cancellation terms directly with each provider.
How should I use BarkParks before a road trip?
Use BarkParks to shortlist stops, compare route options, and build a checklist. Then verify hours, weather, permits, leash rules, and emergency vet access before departure.
Safety
Is BarkParks giving veterinary or emergency advice?
No. BarkParks is a planning resource only. For urgent pet safety concerns, contact a veterinarian, local authorities, or emergency services.
What should I pack for a dog-friendly park visit?
At minimum: water, a bowl, leash, waste bags, ID tags, weather gear, and any needed medications. Longer outings may also require shade, paw protection, and a first-aid kit.
How do I know if a park is safe for my dog?
Check current weather, terrain, heat index, wildlife notes, leash rules, water access, and your dog's fitness level. If something feels off, skip the stop.
What if I see dangerous or outdated information?
Please contact us right away so we can review it. Community corrections help us improve accuracy for everyone.
