Privacy Policy
Plain-English summary: BarkParks helps people plan dog-friendly outings. We collect only the information we need to run the site, improve maps, manage memberships, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use BarkParks, we may collect:
- Contact information such as your email address when you join a waitlist, sign up for a checklist, contact support, or manage a membership.
- Account or trip-planning information such as saved preferences, favorite parks, notes, and membership status if account features are enabled.
- Technical and usage information such as browser type, pages visited, approximate region, referral source, and device identifiers through analytics and log files.
- Map and location inputs if you search for a park, route, or address using mapping features.
- Affiliate and commerce signals such as click-through events, order attribution, or referral IDs when you use affiliate links.
2. How We Use Information

We use data to deliver maps, memberships, saved preferences, and support responses.
Improve BarkParks
Analytics help us understand which park pages, gear guides, and trip-planning tools are most useful.
Protect users
We may use logs and device data to detect abuse, fraud, scraping, or security incidents.

We keep records needed for accounting, tax, consumer requests, and compliance.
5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA / CPRA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; limit certain processing; withdraw consent; and appeal a denied request where allowed by law.
- California residents may request categories and specific pieces of personal information, request deletion, and request correction. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in the CCPA/CPRA.
- EEA / UK residents may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection to processing, and may complain to a supervisory authority.

6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected.
- Support emails are typically retained for up to 24 months.
- Analytics data is retained according to provider settings and may be aggregated or de-identified sooner.
- Membership, account, and transaction records may be retained longer when needed for billing, fraud prevention, tax, or legal compliance.
You may request deletion of your personal information. We will delete or de-identify eligible data unless we must keep certain records for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No website can promise perfect security, but we work to limit access, protect stored data, and reduce unnecessary collection.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
BarkParks is designed for a general audience and is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental involvement. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it if appropriate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as BarkParks evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
